Still no visa

Still hasn't arrived. I found out this morning too that one of the girls I'm flying over with, to the same town, might have to leave two weeks later because of a medical problem. The other girl might not get her visa in time so I'll be all ALONE.

And Allen, my creature won't be seeing me off at the airport because it's his first day of Tafe. Ha! (Humourless laugh).

Visa

My visa hasn't come yet. The Spanish Consulate has my passport, my ticket, my insurance information...

My water-fearing friend

My water-fearing friend Posted by Picasa

He's a basenji. He hates water. If you splash him he shrieks. It's the funniest thing in the world.

A virus

Apparently I have a virus. I thought I was just sick from drinking coffee but then I started throwing up. Today was my last day at work and I had to leave early because I was feeling so crap.

I almost killed a rabbit yesterday. He belongs to a family friend who had to go overseas in a hurry so we were looking after it. My mum put it in the shade because it was so hot yesterday but then the sun moved and he was being baked alive. When I came home, he was lying on his side, but I thought he was just basking in the sun, enjoying the fresh air. I did ask my dad if he was OK, if he'd been put deliberately in the sun, and my dad said he was OK.

Anyway, I had an afternoon nap and woke to my mum's shrieking. The poor rabbit was lying on his side breathing heavily and panting, his eyes closed. We rushed him to the vet who put him in an ice bath to get his temperature down. She said he only had a 50-50 chance, since his temperature was at 42 and that's when they get brain damage. I was so distraught, and I felt so incredibly guilty because I hadn't moved him from the sun.

Anyway, now he's home, and still unbrain-damaged and as bitey as ever.
